This innings has been the biggest first innings on foreign soil after India’s 622/7 (declared) made in Sydney in 2019. This is also India’s highest score in the first innings after the 2007 Oval Test (664 runs) in England.

However, the start of Indian batsmen was tremendous. Gill scored 147 runs in this match, while Pant’s bat scored 134 runs. At the same time, Yashasvi scored 101 runs. But due to lack of contribution in the middle order and lower order, the team missed a big score. Despite this, this innings was historic, especially with three centuries.
