New Delhi: Indian bowlers could not defend the target of 371 runs in the first Test match played in Leeds, after which the guests have started raising questions about the invasion of the team. Former England spinner Monty Panesar believes that India should feed Kuldeep Yadav in the next Test match.
Panesar told PTI video, ‘Bharat in Edgbaston can include Kuldeep Yadav in the team as an ex factor. Kuldeep should be fed instead of Shardul. Edgbaston’s wicket takes a little turn. So you have the X factor that I think will be a better option. There is something special in that.
If Monty Panesar believes, Ravindra Jadeja can also remain in the team. Monty said, ‘Kuldeep does not need a turning track. During the IPL, we saw that he could trouble the batsmen despite not getting a special turn from the wicket. If Shardul Thakur will bowl only six to eight overs and will not be able to do even 15 overs throughout the day, then there is no point in keeping him in the team.
If you want to keep the same spinner, then Kuldeep is the only option
When Monty Panesar was asked whether India should choose Kuldeep instead of Jadeja, he did not show any hesitation. He said, ‘I think he needs to keep Kuldeep in the team because he has more X factor. There is something special among them. If you want to keep only one spinner in the team, then Kuldeep should be replaced in the playing XI instead of Jadeja.
