England captain Ben Stokes on Tuesday dismissed the speculation of Jaspreet Bumrah’s only three Tests, saying “This is India’s problem, we are paying attention to the England team.” Stokes made it clear that they are not making any prediction about India’s team, but they are confident that “this Indian team full of passion” will give a tough competition in the second Test.
Avenging the questions raised on Bumrah, Stokes said, “This is India’s problem. He will find a solution itself. I am the captain of England. In the Leeds Test, Bumrah proved to be India’s most effective bowler, while other bowlers like the famous Krishna, Mohammad Siraj and Shardul Thakur could not leave the impact.”

India’s team always fights- Stokes
Regarding the Indian team, Stokes said, ‘This is a good team. It always gives a tough competition, a team full of enthusiasm. There is always pressure on international cricketers, but Indian cricketers are much more than that. We have forgotten what happened in Leeds, now the match will start again 0–0.
England completed their second biggest successful run chase of Test cricket by chasing 371 runs in Leeds. Significantly, his biggest run chase (378 runs) was also against India in 2022 at this Edgbaston ground.

‘I am a fan of Rishabh Pant’
Stokes praised Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant. In the Leeds Test, Pant scored history by scoring a century in both innings and became the first Indian wicketkeeper to do so in Tests. Stokes said, even though it is in the opposing team, but I like to see Rishabh playing. The way he plays cricket, especially in Test, is very special. If they are left free, they can do anything.
He further said, “Players like Rishabh are dangerous. We know that we will get opportunities due to their way of playing, but if they go, it is difficult to stop them.”
