England veteran batsman Joe Root is currently the fifth highest run -scorer in Test cricket history, but now he has a golden opportunity to reach the second place. He will get this opportunity against India in the fourth Test match to start in Old Trafford, Manchester from today.

Root has recently secured the number 1 place in the ICC Test batting rankings. He had lost this place for some time Harry Brook, but he returned to the top ranking after a brilliant 104 in Lord’s Test and then 40 runs.
In this Test, his 37th Test century took him ahead of Rahul Dravid and took him to the fifth place in the list of players who scored the most centuries in Test cricket.
