Ryan Ten Dochet, assistant coach of the Indian Mains Cricket Team, has announced that Jasprit Bumrah will be available for the second Test of the five -match series starting on July 2 in Edgbaston, Birmingham against England.
Bumrah can play the second Test.
New Delhi. After the bar in the first Test match, Team India’s playing XI is expected to change. The news was also that Jasprit Bumrah would not play in the next Test. But Ryan Ten Doshet, assistant coach of the Indian Mains Cricket Team, has announced that Jasprit Bumrah will be available for the second Test of the five -match series starting on July 2 in Edgbaston, Birmingham against England.
Earlier reports suggested that Bumrah could be rested for the second Test and he could return to the third Test to manage his workload. Bumrah was India’s most effective bowler in the first innings of the first Test in Headingley, he gave India a slight lead of six runs with five wickets. But he could not impress in the second innings.
He could not take wickets in the second innings and England successfully achieved the challenging target of 371 and won the match by five wickets. During the team selection it was clear that Bumrah would play only four of the five scheduled Tests so that his workload could be managed. Captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir had said that he will later decide which four matches Bumrah would play.
