Former Team India coach Ravi Shastri has advocated to give young batsman Sai Sudarshan a chance to debut in the first Test against England. He said that Sudarshan should be sent to number-3, while Karun Nair should include at number 5, who has performed brilliantly in recent first class cricket. The first Test match will start from 20 June in Haddingley, Leeds and this will be the first match of Shubman Gill as a Test captain.
What did Ravi Shastri say?
In a conversation on the ICC review, Shastri said, ‘I will send Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul for the opening. Rahul scored a century in the last series in England and he is the most experienced batsman. Sai Sudarshan should get a chance at number 3. I have been very impressed by what I have seen them. This will be a good experience for them.

Karun Nair has done well in the first class. I told him during the IPL – just not knock the door, break it and come in. And they have done the same.
