New Delhi. Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting believes that India should include Arshdeep Singh in playing 11 in the upcoming five -Test series against England. Ponting, who recently coached Arshdeep for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 season. He has said that his ability to swing the left-arm angle and new ball can be a ‘difference point’ for the team.
Ponting further said, “As we know, the ball in England swings even after 30, 40 or 50 overs. Therefore, having a bowler who can bowl swing and be left-arirr. I think the Indian team must pay attention to this tour.”
Arshdeep has not yet played a Test match for India and his selection for the England series is his first in this format. However, he has been a great white-ball bowler so far and played an important role in the 2024 T20 World Cup win. His figures are also good in first-class cricket. 66 wickets in 21 matches at an average of 30.37. He has also played county cricket earlier, where he took 13 wickets in 5 matches in Division One for Kent.
