The fourth match of the Test series between India and England was played at the Old Trafford ground in Manchester. Tamil Nadu’s wicketkeeper batsman Narayan Jagdishan has got a place in the Indian team for the fifth Test match in place of Rishabh Pant.

The BCCI release said, ‘Rishabh Pant has fractured the right leg during the fourth Test match against England in Manchester, due to which he is out of the fifth and final Test of the series. The BCCI’s medical team will keep an eye on their situation and the team has wished them to get well soon. The Mains selection panel has included Narayan Jagadishan in the team for the fifth Test in place of Rishabh Pant. The match will be played from 31 July 2025 at Kennington Oval, London.

When was Rishabh Pant hurt?
Rishabh Pant was hurt in the first day’s game during the Manchester Test match. Then Pant was trying to hit the reverse sweep off the ball of Chris Woakes, in which he missed and the ball was loud on his right leg. Due to this, Pant had to retired. However, Pant came to bat again on the second day and managed to score 54 runs.

N. Talking about Jagadishan, he has been included in the Test team for the first time due to his continuous good performance in domestic cricket. Jagdish also has a good experience of first class cricket. India has got the second expert wicketkeeper due to his involvement. Dhruv Jurael is already in the squad. KL Rahul is also an alternative, but he does not take wicketkeeping in Tests due to fitness problems.
