Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly on Friday appreciated the efforts of the Indian batsmen, especially captain Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a century to reach India to 359/3 at the end of the first day of the headingle Test. Jaiswal and Gill announced their preparations to handle the Indian batting in the later era of Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma by scoring a brilliant century. Gill and Jaiswal shared a 129 -run partnership for the third wicket, leading to India from 92/2 to 221.
Ganguly tweeted on Friday night and wrote, “How good was the performance of the Indian team today? The first day of the series .. Shubman Gill’s Test match batting has improved a lot in foreign circumstances .. Yashswi appeared as luxurious again .. A quality team has been seen again. A long series is awaited.”
