The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) separated itself from the India block on Friday. MP Sanjay Singh said that AAO is no longer a part of the opposition alliance. He questioned the role of the Congress party in leading the coalition.
Sanjay said- This is not a children’s game. Did he have a meeting after the Lok Sabha elections. Did there be any initiative to expand the India block.
The comment came before the meeting of leaders of India block parties to be held on July 19. This meeting is taking place just before the monsoon session of Parliament.
The previous formal meeting of India block was held on 5 June 2024 at the house of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. It included 21 parties.
Opposition coalition meeting being held after 13 months
A coalition of opposition parties is meeting after a long gap of 13 months to jointly deliberate on the country’s political situation. Sanjay said- You have made your stand clear. India Block (2024) was formed for the Lok Sabha elections. We fought Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Gujarat assembly elections on our own. Now we will also contest Bihar elections alone. The AAP is not part of the block. We have always played the role of a strong opposition. We will vigorously raise the issues.
