After the terrorist attack on (April 22, 2025) in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India not only destroyed the terrorist bases by launching Operation Sindoor but also showed his status to the Pakistani Army. The weapons of China and Turki also proved to be laggards in front of Indian military forces and India’s defense system. Since then, many countries of the world have not only become fans of India, but they have been vying to buy missiles and other war materials from India.
Demand has increased in India’s indigenous weapons world. In such a situation, Armenia, who has already been buying Indian weapons, many top military officers of it have reached Delhi to make arms agreement. This delegation is headed by Colonel Meher Israeli.
Azerbaijan bouncing on Turki’s weapons
His purpose of the report is to know the technological capabilities of indigenous defense systems developed in India such as AK-203 assault rifle, state-of-the-art frontline sensor and smart monitoring system. Armenia and Azerbaijan have been in struggle for years and the Turkas stand constantly with Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan fights Armenia on the strength of Turk’s weapons.
What is Armenia buying from India?
If we look at the statistics, the defense trade between India and Armenia has achieved a new place in the last few years. Since 2020, Armenia has made arms deals with more than $ 2 billion from India. Armenia has bought Pinaka Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) in the last few years, capable of rapid attacking enemy’s bases.
Apart from this, Armenia has bought Akash Air Defense System from India, which can destroy missiles and drones coming at low altitude. India is currently handing Armenia a second batch of Akash-1 S Air Defense System. It is part of a $ 720 million deal in 2022, under which Armenia had deals with India for 15 Akash System and became the first international buyer of the system. The first battery was delivered in November 2024 and the second battery will be delivered after July 2025.
