Sports complex is being prepared in Ahmedabad to host the Commonwealth Games.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Wednesday approved the bid to host India’s Commonwealth Games 2030. This approval is given in the Special General Meeting (SGM). For hosting, India performed the Exemption of Interest Summit in the month of March.
Now India will have to summit the final bidding proposal by 31 August. The withdrawal of Canada’s name has increased the chances of India’s hosting. A few days ago, a team of Commonwealth Sports visited Ahmedabad, including the director of the Games, Daren Hall.
Another delegation of Commonwealth Sports may visit Ahmedabad later this month. After this tour, the General Assembly of Commonwealth Sports will decide the host country in late November. Earlier, India had hosted the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
India has organized the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010.
Last year was claimed for 2036 Olympics Apart from CWG, India is also preparing to host the 2036 Olympic Games. In November last year, India submitted a claim to host the Olympic Games-2036.
The Olympic hosts of 2032 have been fixed. The 2032 host is given to the city of Brisbane in Australia. While the 2028 Olympic Los Angeles is to be held.
