India has expressed a desire to share its experiences of using digital public infrastructure with the world to bridge the gender digital division. Top leaders of the United Nations have appreciated the steps taken by the country towards increasing digital financial inclusion.
Sexual digital division means difference in use of internet and digital techniques between men and women. Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi said, ‘India is moving forward with the development of women and building a country where women are active in areas ranging from concept to design, implementation and monitoring.’
She came to the United Nations Headquarters to attend an event organized on Wednesday (March 12, 2025) on the 69th session of the Commission (CSW). Annapurna Devi addressed India’s Permanent Mission and Ministerial Round Table Conference organized by the United Nations Women at the United Nations. The theme of this conference was & lsquo; Digital and Financial Inclusion for Women Empowerment & Rsquo; And & lsquo; financing for women empowerment – the importance of main resources & Rsquo;.
Underlining the transforming power of digital public infrastructure for bridging sexual based digital division and building a strong government system, Annapurna Devi said, “India will be happy to share its experience with the world.” At the same time, he highlighted the important need of resources to realize the attitude of women -led development.
Annapurna Devi is leading the Indian delegation at CSW, which is the world’s largest annual conference focused on women’s issues. It is currently being held at the United Nations Headquarters. The 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the condition of women will begin on March 10 and will end on March 21.
Devi highlighted that the Integrated Payment System (UPI) developed in India has changed the system of regular transactions. Annapurna Devi emphasized that nations will have to be conscious of the fact that while promoting digital inclusion of women is the most important, data security and privacy should also be ensured.
