A senior official of the Government of India said that the impact of 26 percent recipes on India by the US is being analyzed. The Ministry of Commerce is analyzing this.
He informed that universal 10 percent tariff on all types of imports in the US will be applicable from April 5 while the remaining 16 percent tariff will be effective from April 10. The Ministry of Commerce is analyzing the effects of these tariffs.
He said that there is a provision in this that if a country puts the concerns related to tariffs to America, then the Trump administration can consider reducing the tariff rate on that country.
Trump has kept this tariff open by calling it a concession. India has been imposed 26 percent tariff instead of its 52 percent. With this, Trump has kept the possibility of interaction with India open. Both countries are constantly in touch with each other.
Trump’s tariff is not a shock for India
India is already interacting with the US on bilateral trade agreement. The goal of the two countries is to finalize the first phase of this agreement by September-October this year.
