India summoned Bangladesh High Commissioner Mohammad Nural Islam. He was called for the issue of rhetoric against India for internal affairs of Bangladesh. Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said that he was called at 5:00 pm on 7 February 2025. He was told that India wants a positive, creative and mutually beneficial relationship with Bangladesh, which has been repeated several times in recent high-level meetings.
