The Indian Army shared the first photos of Apache helicopters on Tuesday.
The Indian Army received the first batch of three Apache helicopters from the US. This will significantly increase the army’s attack and operational capacity. These three helicopters are part of the $ 600 million deal between India and the US. Under this, India has to get 6 Apache helicopters. The deal was signed during the first term of President Donald Trump in 2020 during his first term.
Under this deal, the first batch was scheduled to arrive in May-June 2024, but the country was delayed due to disruption in supply line and geopolitical developments in the world.
The Indian Air Force already has two Apache squadron in Pathankot in Punjab and Jorhat in Assam.
