New Delhi: The first Test match between India and England will begin in Leeds on 20 June. Traditionally leads’ pitch gives more help to fast bowlers than spinners. Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has asked Ravindra Jadeja to feed Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI.
Harbhajan Singh told ‘PTI videos’ on Monday,’ India should consider feeding Kuldeep Yadav. Of course Jadeja will bowl with him, so two spinners with three fast bowlers will be the perfect pair for this match.
Harbhajan Singh termed the left -arm wrist spinner Kuldeep as a possible match winner under any kind of circumstances. He said, ‘Let’s see if the circumstances change and the spinners get help. But even if this does not happen, I feel that these are two capable bowlers who can take wickets on any pitch.
What happened in the 2002 Test match?
Based on his experience, Harbhajan recalled India’s adventure decision to field two spinners in Headingley in 2002, when he and Anil Kumble took 11 wickets together. India won that match by an innings and 46 runs.
23 year old formula will win
Harbhajan said, ‘It was a very unique decision at that time. There was a lot of grass on the pitch, but the management decided that we would land with two spinners and two fast bowlers and Sanjay Bangar will also bowl. He said, ‘We chose five best bowlers who could take wickets. In the end it matters. You should support the bowlers who can take wickets on any situation or any kind of pitch.
