MiG-21 is one of the oldest fighter jets of the Indian Air Force.

The MiG-21 fighter aircraft will retire on 19 September after serving for 62 years in the Indian Air Force (IAF). Fighter jet will have a farewell program at Chandigarh Airbase. After this, the services of the aircraft will end officially.

The MiG-21 jet was first inducted into the Indian Air Force in 1963. Its different versions served in the Air Force. The last aircraft of the fighter jet is part of the 23rd squadron, also known as panthers.

Fighter Jet MiG-21 Jet played the Indo-Pak War of 1965, Bangladesh Mukti Sangram of 1971, Kargil War of 1999 and Balakot Air Strike of 2019.
