The convict may have been small but he is counted among the great spinners of India. Dilip Doshi took 5 wickets in his debut Test. He is one of the four players in the world who made his Test debut at the age of more than 30 years and took more than 100 wickets in his career.

Dilip Doshi has also written an autobiography on his cricketing career, named Spin Punch.

Dilip Dosti was India’s left -handed spin bowler. He was part of India’s international team between 1979 and 1983. He started his Test career at the age of 32. He played 33 Tests and 15 ODIs for India in his career. Dilip Doshi took 114 wickets in 33 matches. At the same time, he has made a record of taking five wickets six times.

Dilip Doshi’s family is survived by his wife Kalindi, a son Nayan and a daughter Visakha. Dilip Doshi’s son Nayan has also played first class cricket for Saurashtra and Surrey. Dileep Dilip Doshi was living in London with his family for more than a decade and he breathed his last.
