Apple has released a study this week, in which the role of the app store for Indian developers has been explained in detail. This study has been done by Professor Vishwanath Pingali of IIM, Ahmedabad. The report gives detailed information about the economic impact of Apple’s App Store Ecosystem in India.
According to the company, the App Store has a developer billing and sales of Rs 44,447 crore ($ 5.31 billion) in India. It is noteworthy that 94 percent of this revenue has gone directly to developers and businesses, in which there is no commission of Apple.

This study has been published under the name ‘The Apple Ecosystem in India: its value to developers and users’. From the time of the launch of Apple App Store, Indian developers have discovered many ways to montize their apps in the fields of games, health and fitness, lifestyle and utility.
Where is the earning of Indian developers earning
It has been reported in the report that in 2024, 80 percent of India -based developers have earned from external users. At the same time, 87 percent of the developers are active on multiple storefronts. The apps of Indian developers have been downloaded more than 75.5 crore times in 2024. This number is doubled compared to 5 years ago.

At the same time, small developers have also increased income from the app store. Between 2021 and 2024, this increase has increased by 74 percent. To pursue this, Apple has set up the developer center in Bangalore, whose purpose is to provide support and training. Apple has also helped prevent fraud transactions.
