Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar met Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Gain Kim Yong on Sunday (July 13, 2025). He said that he is happy to see continuous progress in various bilateral initiatives with Singapore. Please tell that Foreign Minister is on a three -day visit to Singapore and China.
Jaishankar said in a social media post, ‘Nice to meet Deputy Prime Minister Gain Kim Yong.’ The Foreign Minister said that he was happy to see the continuous progress in various bilateral relations. Jaishankar also said that he is eagerly waiting for the Third India-Sangapur Round Table Conference (ISMR).

Earlier, Jaishankar met his counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan and said, ‘Singapore is at the center of our’ Act East ‘policy. It is always special to exchange ideas there. Posting about the meeting, Balakrishnan said, “As the world is moving towards multiplicity, India will play an important role as one of these major poles of the occasion.”
The ‘Act East Policy’ is an important part of India’s foreign policy, in which India works to further enhance relations with East Asia and South-Eastern Asia countries. This meeting will work in advancing the growing political and economic relations between India and Singapore.
Singapore’s Foreign Minister said this
Singapore’s Foreign Minister also said that he is keen to meet Jaishankar in New Delhi for the third ISMR meeting. The inauguration meeting of ISMR was held in New Delhi in September 2022, while the second round of ISMR was held in Singapore in August last year.
Jaishankar also met Teo Chi Hen, the nominated president of Temasake Holdings, during which he discussed investment opportunities in India. After visiting Singapore, Jaishankar will go to attend the conference of Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO) in the Chinese city of Tianjin.
