Promoting connectivity on the Line of National Security and Actual Control (LAC) of India, the country’s highest airfield located in Mud-Nyoma, East Ladakh will be fully prepared for the operation by October. According to sources, Nyoma is the closest to the Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) of LAC, which is situated at an altitude of about 13,700 feet.
Three kilometers runway in Nyoma

The height of the airsterrip and its presence close to the Line of Actual Control makes the airstrip a strategic property, allowing India to deploy resources faster on its Northern border than before. Nyoma’s position as the nearest ALG of LAC will be very important in Resupons Senaero. This will give the Indian Air Force directly access to remote and hilly border area, where traditional ground transport is often challenging.
Strategic importance between recent stresses
The construction of Nyoma has been completed at a time when special attention is being paid to the infrastructure on the Indo-China border. Since the deadlock with China began with China on the Line of Actual Control four years ago, India has carried forward its infrastructure projects in Ladakh and surrounding areas very fast.
Nyoma is a major success in this network, which enhances India’s counter -capabilities and logistics aid in inaccessible areas by joining newly constructed roads, tunnels and bridges.

The importance of this airfield has increased even more after the recent military disillusionment agreement between India and China- Demchok and Depsang. The patrolling has started again due to these disorders, yet the proximity to these areas of Nyoma explains its importance as a quick deployment base.
India is a strong sign of its commitment to protect regional integrity, being rapidly prepared by India.
Important steps for border security
India has carried forward these infrastructure projects in challenging circumstances, which reflects a decisive change in its perspective towards border security. The focus, especially the focus, military and citizen, is important for meeting both military and citizens on strengthening connectivity in areas like Ladakh.
The development of highly altitude ALGs like Nyoma not only ensures better operations, but also contributes to local contact, as well as supports civil aviation, which can also provide better facilities to people.
This strategic airfield -based Nyoma is a milestone in the goal of strengthening the Himalayan border infrastructure of India, equipping it to deal with potential hazards and ensuring safe limits.
