Kasna police station and SWAT team in Greater Noida have achieved a major success. Investigating the information of a fake kidnapping, the police have busted the international online betting gang. Eight members of this gang have been arrested. Four laptops, 26 mobiles, 16 SIM cards, fake Aadhaar cards, passports, passbooks, checkbooks and other objectionable documents have been recovered from them.
In fact, the matter came to light on June 12 when Subhash Chandra, a resident of Alwar, Rajasthan, informed the Kasna police that his son Bhim Singh (22) and nephew Narayan (25) had been kidnapped in Noida and the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of Rs 7 lakh. Due to the matter being serious, the police and SWAT team started the investigation on the instructions of DCP Greater Noida Shad Mian Khan.

Through electronic surveillance and manual intelligence, the police traced Bhim Singh’s location, which was found in the White Orchid apartment in Gaur City. From there, the police caught four youths named Dhruv, Mukim, Vishal and Sunny. During interrogation, it was found that all the youths were running online cricket betting through a banned mobile app called Rudra Cric Live.
Betted on victory and defeat
After this, the police also raided Radha Sky Garden and another place from where Bhim Singh, Narayan, Himanshu and Sukhdev were arrested. During investigation, it was clear that the gang used to work at the behest of the kingpin sitting in Thailand and Dubai. For betting, customers were given IDs through WhatsApp and then live over, runs, wickets and wins were placed on the app.
The daily income of the gang has been stated to be about 30 lakh rupees, which used to be transferred to foreign accounts through fake bank accounts. During interrogation, Bhim Singh made a shocking disclosure that he had coined the false story of kidnapping himself so that he could take money from his father in the name of ransom.
Now the Greater Noida Police is also investigating aspects of money laundering and digital transactions against this gang. The accounts in which the money has been transferred is being freeze. Also, preparations are being made to send notice to social media influencers who had promoted this app.
DCP said this in the case
DCP Greater Noida Shad Mian Khan said, the kidnapping was reported on 12 June. The investigation found that it was a false story, which was created by the speculative gang. The gang was operating from Thailand and Dubai. 8 accused have been arrested. Mobile, laptop, SIM card and fake documents have been recovered in large quantities. Bank accounts are being freed and notices will be sent to social media promoters.
