Captain Rohit Sharma, who won 2 ICC tournaments consecutively, has described his victory formula. Talking to Mi, Rohit said- ‘The journey of our success and change in mindset started from 2022. When the Indian team lost the T20 World Cup semi -finals in Australia.
Mi shared a video of Rohit’s conversation on social media. In this, the Indian captain said- ‘After that defeat, we told the players clearly what is expected from them and how we want to see them playing. A lot of talks were talked to the players for this. They needed to be given freedom so that they could play fearlessly. We lost some series, but did not panic and maintain our process.
Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India suffered defeat in one of the 24 matches in the last three ICC Limited Over tournament. Rohit said-
We have also seen difficult times but then you also got a chance to celebrate. I believe that every player playing the last three tournaments deserves respect. This is for all those players who are going through difficult times and disappointment. They want to return and whatever the circumstances, they want to touch the heights.
What did Rohit say on what matter? Rohit’s interview came at a time when the BCCI officials were about to hold a meeting to decide the outline of the future, but the meeting was postponed.
- On Mumbai’s performance: On Mumbai’s performance in IPL last year, Rohit said that every player should have determination to return. He said- I was focusing on finishing his T20 career. Which I did after winning the T20 World Cup.
- On its performance in last season: Rohit said- ‘This (2024 IPL) was the worst phase for the team and I think we did not even play our best cricket, but there was a lot after IPL. The World Cup was about to arrive and I had to focus on it. I knew that this is my last T20 World Cup and I wanted to win it. But this was not possible without the help of other players. We lived as a group and all contributed to the entire tournament.
- On defeat in Test series: Rohit said- We lost the series at home. Could not play well in Australia. After this the Champions Trophy won. The last nine months are the best example of how life is. There will always be ups and downs in it.
Mumbai’s second match in IPL today, first match lost The Mumbai team will play their second match in IPL 2025 on Saturday. The match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from 7:30 pm. Mumbai Indians suffered a 4 -wicket defeat against Chennai Super Kings in the first match.
