The 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on 22 March. While the final match will be played on 25 May. The first match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Eden Gardens. In the IPL 2025 season, a total of 74 matches will be played between these 10 teams in 65 days, including the final.
Kolkata won the last season in a spectacular manner. In the final match of the 2024 season played at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets. Kolkata’s team became IPL champion after 10 years. Earlier, he won the title in the 2014 and 2012 season.
Mumbai-Chennai names the most titles
Mumbai Indians (Mi) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have won the most titles in the history of IPL. Both won the title 5-5 times. At the same time, Kolkata Knight Riders have won 3 (2012, 2014 and 2022) titles. Rajasthan Royals (2008), Deccan Chargers (2009), Sunrisers Hyderabad (2016) and Gujarat Titans (2022) are also included in the list of teams to become champions.
