Actually, Tilak Verma is going to play four matches for Hampshire in the County Championship Division 1 this year, and he has caught everyone’s attention by performing brilliantly in his first match. Tilak, commonly known as T20 batsman, demonstrated his red-ball cricket skills in the match against Essex and completed the first century of the county career.

Tilak Verma came to the crease when Hampshire’s score was 11/2 and England fast bowler Sam Cook was on a hat -trick. In such a difficult situation, he showed tremendous restraint and technology. He scored 100 runs in 239 balls, including 11 fours and 3 sixes.

After the match, Tilak Verma said, ‘I always say that Test cricket is my favorite game. I was waiting for this opportunity. People recognize me as T20 batsman because I am the world’s number 3 batsman in T20I. But I know myself and I have been saying this for a long time that I am a good Test player. I like Test cricket, playing near the body, taking a challenge, especially under the circumstances of England.

Indian batsmen who have scored a century on debut
Tilak Verma has now joined the list of selected Indian batsmen who have scored a century on county debut. Earlier, this feat has been done by Piyush Chawla, Murali Vijay and Ajinkya Rahane. Tilak Verma, who played domestic cricket for Hyderabad, has so far scored 1200+ runs in 18 first -class matches at an average of 50.16, including 5 centuries and 4 half -centuries.
