Iran israel ceasefire: The ‘BRICS’ group with India, China, Russia and eight other member countries has expressed ‘serious concern’ against Iran and appealed for peace. This influential platform urged the concerned parties to improve the situation of war through interaction and diplomacy. The US attacked three nuclear bases in Iran. After this, the war between Iran and Israel was intensified.
US President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, which is likely to continue on Wednesday. BRICS said in a statement on Tuesday, “We express serious concern over military attacks against ‘Islamic Republic of Iran’ from June 13, which is a violation of international law and United Nations Charter.”
India also expressed concern
India has also expressed concern over the case of Iran and Israel. BRICS’s statement said, “In view of increasing stress with international peace and safety as well as unexpected results for the world economy, we outline the immediate need to break the cycle of violence and restore peace.”
The group called upon all the parties to interact through existing dialogue and diplomacy, so that the situation improves and peaceful methods can be resolved. The platform also expressed serious concern over any attack against peaceful nuclear establishments, violating the relevant proposals of international law and international nuclear power agency (IAEA).
The comments are considered directed against both the US and Israel, as both sides have attacked the Iranian nuclear features. BRICS, originally consisting of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, included Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates in 2024, including Indonesia in 2025.
BRICS said, “Nuclear security, security and safety including armed conflicts should always be maintained to protect people and environment from damage. In this context, we repeat our support for diplomatic initiatives with the aim of resolving regional challenges. ”
