The impact of Iran-Israel War has started appearing on the rice trade of Haryana. Every year Iran has about 1 million tonnes of basmati rice export from many cities including Karnal, Kaithal. Due to the war, some shipments have been held at Kandla Port at the moment, because there is no insurance in the event of war. President of All India Rice Association, Satish Goyal said that Iran is the largest country to buy basmati rice from India. This year 6 million tonnes of rice exported from India, of which 30-35 percent has gone from Haryana. The merchants are in constant touch with the government.
Satish Goyal, the head of All India Rice Association, said that such a situation has come for the last few days. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. Every year one million tonnes of rice goes from India to Iran. Export has also been good in the last two months. He said that we do not think that a huge impact will come on the business of rice, because whenever there is war, the business of things related to food continues. It is expected that this will be resolved quickly, because the Government of India also has contact with rice traders, who send rice to Iran.

Satish Goyal said that there is no issue of rice that has reached, but what we have held on Kandla Port, they hope that the market will come forward and the market will be smooth again. Satish Goyal said that Iran is a big country, which buys rice from us. If there is a war situation, then there has been a slight decline in the price of rice. As soon as it is fine, the prices of rice will be the same and the market will run right. This year we have sent 6 million tonnes of rice from India to other countries. 30 to 35 percent of the rice that goes abroad from India goes from Haryana.
He said that we have direct contact with the government and the conversation continues. Union Minister Piyush Goyal is also to meet on 24 June. Will put his whole thing in front of them too. There is a fear in the mind that if there is any problem on the way in the event of this war, then the problem will increase. Although rice is insured, but there is no insurance in the war. The government is also considering that if the war goes on longer, then in this situation, the provision of rice insurance should come out.
