Iran will break all relationships with IAEA! Parliament approves the bill, said- ‘Until security is guaranteed …’

Iran on IAEA: The Iranian Parliament has approved the bill to suspend cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAA), the Iranian Parliament. Reuters have given this information by quoting Nurnues. Tehran’s Tasnim news agency on the matter, citing the committee spokesperson Ibrahim Regai on Monday (22 June 2025), stated that according to the bill, monitoring cameras will be installed, allowing inspection and presenting reports to IAEA will be suspended until the safety of nuclear facilities is guaranteed. However, Parliament still has to approve the bill in a full session in this regard.

The relations between Iran and IAEA have been tense since the early 2000s, especially after the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) i.e. Iran Nuclear Agreement. However, after the US exiting the agreement in 2018, Iran increased uranium enrichment by violating several conditions. IAEA’s cameras and inspections have been the only reliable sources of monitoring Iran’s nuclear program. Now with the introduction of this bill, it is clear that Iran is taking steps towards retreating from transparency.

The news is being updated.
