The railway division has been written to impose a fine of more than 25 thousand rupees against different vendors. This action has started from July 21. In 23 trains were investigated at Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur stations in two days (21-22 July).
In fact, IRCTC has launched a ‘war for pure’ to provide pure food and railway neer to passengers at train and station. In this, brand water and milk products were caught without permission.
At the same time, Vande Bharat train found cups of poor quality for tea. In many of these, goods were seized and action was taken on the concerned vendors.
In the action taken in trains at Jaipur railway station, a large amount of permission was caught without permission.
Complaints were received from passengers IRCTC General Manager Mukesh Saini said- We were receiving constant complaints from the passengers on ‘Rail Help’ app and Twitter. We analyzed complaints that came from 1 to 20 July.
It mainly reported four types of complaints. Selling water without approval in trains, unauthorized vending, charging more money than fixed rate and decrease in food quality. Special field action was started from July 21, based on these complaints.
Action on July 21: Food products of second brand get found In Ajmer, Ranikhet Express (15013), Aravali Express (14702), Udaipur Express (19610) and Ala Hazrat Express (14311) in Jaipur, Barmer-Guwahati (15631) were found in water, food products, food products, biscuits, chocolate, cake and other packed foods. Which are not approved.
Action on 22 July: Local brand without approval Mukesh Saini said- Under the campaign, in the investigation of 15 trains, four trains were caught by water, buttermilk and local brand products. In the Dayodaya Express (12181) in Jaipur, water was found without approval of the golden brand near the vendor Vijay of M/S Food Ward. Its 10 boxes were seized at Jaipur station.
Arjun Singh, manager of KSI Associates at Ranikhet Express (15014) in Jaipur, found 13 boxes of water from the Bislery brand without approval. At the same time, in Jaipur-Pune Express (12940) in Jaipur, 50 butter milk bottles of Sri Krishna brand and local water of Aqua brand were caught near the manager of Food Ward Arvind. All of them were seized and removed from the train. Milk products and water of the second brand were caught in the Ala Hazrat Actress (14322) in Jaipur.

Along with this, the trains in which more complaints were being received by the passengers on the rail help and on Twitter. Surprise inspections were also done in those trains. In this, water of Rail Neer or Un-Autorized Brand was being sold by the vendor.
The Aravalli Express (14702), Udaipur City Express (196010) and Barmer-Guwahati Express (15631) were charging Rs 20 of bottles of Rs 15. The water and food products of the un-Athorized brand have been seized.
IRCTC has taken action on the concerned license holders as per rules and wrote to the concerned railway division for imposing a minimum penalty of Rs 25 thousand in some cases. Teams of DCM and railway divisions of Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur have been included in this campaign. The DCMs of Jaipur are also checking in trains themselves.
Teams monitoring the base kitchen too Mukesh Saini said- To ensure the quality of catering, IRCTC teams are also monitoring the base kitchen. Investigation was done at 5 am in the kitchen of Jaipur, where a complaint was received that cold breakfast is being served in the train.
The investigation found that the equipment of keeping breakfast warm in the kitchen was not correct, due to which breakfast was not able to remain warm. The exhaust system was not working in some kitchens. Immediate improvement action was taken on this. It was ensured that the use of hot -keeping equipment.
Vande Bharat Train Use Light Quality Cup IRCTC General Manager Mukesh Saini said- We were also receiving constant complaints about the Vande Bharat train. When we checked on this, light quality cups were being used to serve tea in Vande Bharat train. Those who were leaking, while the use of hard cup in this train is mandatory. It is written to impose a fine on the contractor on this negligence.
Feedbacks were also taken from the passengers and efforts are being made to address other complaints related to the kitchen.
Dairy products of un–opected brands were being sold in the train. The team seized them.
Sampled with food products and sent them for investigation IRCTC has made it clear that only selected trains are taken responsibility for catering. Different units work at other trains and stations. Through this campaign, it is being ensured that passengers get catering facilities at pure, certified and appropriate rates. This campaign will continue further and daily action report will be prepared. On the basis of complaints, it is also being assessed as to which areas and trains are getting more disturbances.
IRCTC General Manager Mukesh Saini said- Since our scope is limited. In such a situation, we are taking the support of the DCM of the four divisions of North Western Railway. This campaign, which runs till July 30, is also involved in the Food Safety Officer from the Railway Medical Department to check the kitchen.
Wherever there are kitchens of our vendor including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ajmer, the food products have been sampled and sent to the lab for investigation. Further action will be taken based on the lab report.
