Indian wicketkeeper batsman Ishaan Kishan Duleep Trophy has been ruled out of the first match in 2025-26. Ishaan Kishan was in UK to play county cricket from Nottinghamshire a while ago. According to the report of ESPN Cricinfo, Ishaan fell from the e-bike during the UK tour, due to which he had to stitches. Ishaan Kishan has not fully recovered from that injury.
Odisha’s Ashirwad Swain has been included in the East Zone team in place of Ishaan Kishan. At the same time, Abhimanyu Ishwar has been made the captain in the absence of Ishaan. Ishaan was not selected in the Indian team as a replacement of Rishabh Pant for the Oval Test match against England due to this injury. The selectors then included Tamil Nadu wicketkeeper Narayan Jagdishan in the squad.
Ishaan Kishan’s injury is not serious, but he has been excluded from the precautionary team. It is expected that he will be fit for two first class matches against Australia-A next month.
