israel claims hamas nukhba platoon commander abd al hadi sabah killed in drone strike Israeli army claims

Abd Al Hadi Sabah killed in drone strike: Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Tuesday that Hamas’ Nukhba platoon commander Abd al-Hadi Sabah has been killed in a recent drone strike. According to the IDF, Sabah led the Kibbutz Nir Oz attack on 7 October 2023. The IDF said in its statement that the Nukhba platoon commander of Hamas’s western Khan Younis battalion was killed in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza.

The IDF wrote on Twitter that Abd al-Hadi Sabah, the Nukhba platoon commander in the Western Khan Younis battalion, was killed in an IDF and ISA strike based on intelligence. They also said Abd al-Hadi Sabah – who worked from a shelter in Khan Yunis, was leading infiltrators into Kibbutz Nir Oz during the massacre on October 7.

Earlier, the IDF had claimed that it and Shin Bet had killed Anas Muhammad Saadi Masri, commander of the northern sector of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s rocket unit. Masri was actively commanding rocket attacks on Israeli border communities from northern Gaza. He also supervised several operatives involved in firing rockets into Israeli territory.

Earlier, the IDF reported that units working with Shin Bet (Israel’s General Security Service) killed 14 Hamas militants, six of whom took part in the October 7 attack. These operations were carried out as part of the IDF’s 162nd Steel Division’s ongoing activity in the Gaza Strip.

The 162nd Division operated in the areas of Jabaliya and Beit Lahiya as part of a joint activity by the IDF and Shin Bet to locate and eliminate terrorists who participated in the October 7 attack. On October 7 last year, Hamas launched a major terrorist attack on Israel, in which more than 1,200 people were killed and more than 250 people were taken hostage.

About 100 hostages are still in captivity, many of whom are feared dead. In response, Israel launched a strong counter-attack targeting Hamas units in Gaza. However, the Israeli campaign has resulted in more than 45,000 Palestinian casualties in Gaza. In this way, the continuously increasing cases have increased global concerns and the demand for ceasefire has increased. Yemen’s Houthi rebels and Lebanon’s Hezbollah – considered a proxy organization of Iran – have stepped up their attacks against Israel.
