Operation sindhu: The conflict between Iran and Israel is affecting not only the middle East but the countries around the world. Governments around the world seem worried about their citizens living in these countries.
In view of the deteriorating situation of both countries, the Modi government of India has been taking steps to protect Indian citizens in Iran for the last several days. The government launched Operation Sindhu on Wednesday (June 18, 2025). Under this operation, the Indian Embassy first took out 110 Indian students from North Iran and was safely helped to enter Armenia.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, it was said that Indian students have reached Jerevan, the capital of Armenia by road under the supervision of our missions in Iran and Armenia. These students left for Jerevan to come to India on Wednesday (June 18, 2025).
Under Operation Sindhu, students will reach New Delhi on the morning of Thursday (June 19, 2025). The Government of India has thanked the governments of Iran and Armenia for running this withdrawal process smoothly. India gives top priority to the safety of Indian citizens abroad. The Indian Embassy in Iran is constantly helping Indian citizens to move from within the country to safe areas and later using other options.

Helpline number released for Indian students in Iran
Indian citizens in Iran have been advised to keep in touch through the Emergency Helpline of the Indian Embassy in Tehran and the 24×7 control room established by the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.
