1. Stampede, 3 deaths, 50 injured after Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri; CM Majhi apologizes
In Puri, there was a stampede near the Nandighosh chariot of Lord Jagannath in front of Gundicha temple at around 4 am on Sunday morning.
After the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri, Odisha, there was a stampede at 4 am on Sunday. In this, 3 people died, while 50 were injured. The accident occurred in front of Gundicha temple, about 3 km from the Jagannath temple. Here there was a crowd to see Lord Jagannath’s Nandighosh chariot, during this time a stampede took place. Earlier on Friday, the health of more than 625 devotees deteriorated due to increasing crowd pressure around the chariot of Goddess Subhadra. 70 people were admitted to the hospital.
CM Mohan Charan Majhi has apologized for the incident. He wrote on X;-
Me and my government apologize to all the devotees of Lord Jagannath. This negligence is not worth forgiving.
Puri Collector-SP removed: The state government transferred the Collector and SP of Puri. Chanchal Rana has been made a new collector and Pinak Mishra has been made a new SP. Also DCP and Commandant have been suspended.
2024- There were 2 deaths in stampede: During the Jagannath Rath Yatra in the year 2024, a stampede -like situation was also created. Devotees were killed and many people were injured in this. At the same time, 6 devotees died in the stampede in 2008.

2. Kolkata gangrape confirmed by CCTV footage, forcibly doing the accused student
The main accused Manjit Mishra is an alumni and non -teaching staff of Kolkata Law College. BJP has released photographs with TMC leaders.
CCTV footage has confirmed the rape of Kolkata’s law student in gang rape case. Police recovered about 7 hours footage from 3:30 pm to 10:50 pm on June 25. In this, the accused is seen forcibly carrying the victim student in the guard’s room. This confirms the allegations made in the written complaint of the student. The number of members of the SIT formed in the case has been increased from 5 to 9.
Rape confirmation in medical reports also: The medical report of the victim student came on Saturday. The rape was also confirmed in this. According to the report, marks have been found to force Victim, bite on the body and scratch from the nail. The fight has also come to light.
The accused threatened to make the video viral: According to FIR, the accused Manjit had offered marriage to the victim, but she refused, as the girl was already in a relationship. On June 25, when the student went to college from work, the accused took her to a room and closed the gate. The girl asked to go out by holding the feet of the accused, but the accused did not agree. He made a video of the incident and said that if he told anyone about the incident, he will make it viral.
