Jp nadda in bilaspur: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Chemicals and Fertilizer Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh and reviewed the progress of the institute. He inspected the availability and implementation of various health services in the institute. Senior officials of Health Ministry and AIIMS Bilaspur were present on the occasion.
Nadda laid the foundation stone of regional viral research and diagnostic laboratory (VRDL), inaugurated the nuclear medicine facility and also inaugurated the third Amrit Pharmacy Unit in AIIMS Bilaspur.
Inauguration of nuclear medicine facility
The state -of -the -art nuclear medicine facility built at a cost of Rs 30.43 crore was launched in AIIMS Bilaspur. This facility is equipped with PET/CT, Spect/CT, RadiPhorms, and low-dose therapy ward. The center will also provide radionuclide therapy for thyroid, prostate, neuroendocrine and liver cancer patients. Nadda said that these services will be available at low rates than in the private sector and patients coming under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) and Himcare scheme will get these services free of cost.
Review of Visit Sadan and review of development works
JP Nadda also inspected the Vishram Sadan, which is being built with a capacity of 250 beds and plans to increase it to 500 beds in future. This facility will be a significant relief for the families of those patients, who come to AIIMS Bilaspur for treatment from far and wide.
Third Amrit Pharmacy Unit launched in AIIMS Bilaspur
This new pharmacy unit outpatient (OPD) and in-post (IPD) will provide necessary medicines and medical equipment at low prices to patients. In this, implants, medical devices, stents, pacemakers and cancer medicines will also be given at concessional rates.
Regional VRDL founded foundation stone
Nadda laid the foundation stone of regional viral research and diagnostic laboratory (VRDL), which will be one of India’s 165 VRDL laboratories. It will be equipped with bio-3 labs, genomic sequencing and advanced testing facilities of infectious diseases.
Allocation of Bhishm Cubes for disaster management
AIIMS Bilaspur was allotted BHISHM cubes under Prime Minister Arogya Maitri Bhishma Yojana. These cubes are equipped with medical and surgical supply required to treat more than 200 injured in disaster management and can be deployed quickly through air, water, roads or drones.
Announcement of new educational and sports facilities
The Union Minister said that a state -of -the -art indoor stadium will be built at a cost of Rs 4.90 crore. From AIIMS Bilaspur 2025, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) diploma courses will be launched, with the first batch 10 seats.
Nadda said that under the expansion of cancer services, there is also a plan to start bone marrow transplant and stem cell therapy. AIIMS Bilaspur is becoming a major center of high quality medical education and health services for the people of Himachal Pradesh and surrounding states.
