Jagdambika Pal on Waqf Amendment Bill 2025: The Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 will be introduced in the Lok Sabha today (Wednesday). Earlier, Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) President Jagdambika Pal has given a big statement about this bill. He said that the hard work of the committee has paid off and now the government is presenting it in revised form.

Could not visit in North India

Jagdambika Pal said that the JPC committee had visited South India with this bill, but could not visit North India. He said that the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs had told us that our intention is to go to every state of the country and discuss this bill. Along with this, he targeted the opposition fiercely. He said that this bill is being politics and opposition parties are opposing it from day one.

Leaders participation in every meeting

He told that all the leaders were involved in every day’s meetings and after deliberations, the government is now introducing this bill in amended form. He described it as a historic day.

Poor and Pasmanda Muslims will benefit

Jagdambika Pal said that being passed by this bill will benefit the poor, Pasmanda and common Muslims of the country. He believes that through this bill, better management and transparency of Waqf properties will be promoted.

Today the bill will be introduced in Lok Sabha

Explain that the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 will be introduced in the Lok Sabha today (Wednesday). To discuss this, Speaker Om Birla has fixed 8 hours. The Waqf Act, 1995 is not being amended for the first time. This law was also amended during the UPA government in 2013. The ruling coalition has been given 4 hours 40 minutes to debate the bill. Parties including BJP, Congress, JDU, TDP have issued a whip for their MPs for debate in the Lok Sabha.

Kiren Rijiju said this big thing

On Tuesday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju reiterated that the government wants to discuss the bill and all political parties have the right to speak on it. The country also wants to know which party is the stand. He also said that if the opposition does not want to join the discussion, then no one can stop them from stopping this.
