Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey said- The news of the resignation of the Vice President due to health reasons is worrying. We wish him efficiency. It was the first day of the monsoon session and his resignation is surprising on the same day. What is going on in this government? Had the health concern, the resignation could have been given a few days before or after the resignation session.
CPI MP P. Sandosh Kumar said- The developments are absolutely unexpected and we do not know what are the reasons for this. I do not think the Presidents of India will accept it. There may be an initial response from Dhankhar. He may be dissatisfied with some developments.
Ramesh said- Dhankar had to make big announcements
Jairam Ramesh said- I was with many other MPs till about 5 pm this evening (21 July). Talked to him on the phone at 7.30 pm. It is clear that what is seen behind his resignation is much more than. However, this is not the time of speculation.
Ramesh said that Dhankar has taken both the government and the opposition equally. He had decided a meeting of the Working Committee at 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon. Some major announcements related to the judiciary were also to be made.
Kapil Sibal said- Dhankhar nationalist and patriot
Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal described Dhankhar as a patriot. He said- Dhankhar has cited health reasons behind resignation, so it should be accepted and moved forward. There should be no further discussion on this.
Sibal said- I am not personally happy with his resignation, because I will not meet him now when I go to Parliament. I did not like it privately. I had very good relations with him. He used to say his point and did not keep anything in the heart. When I wanted more time to speak in Rajya Sabha, he used to give me more time.
The first Vice President of the country against whom impeachment was brought against
In the history of 72 -year parliamentary democracy in the country, Dhankhar was the first Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President against whom December 2024 had brought impeachment motion. Which was later rejected due to technical reasons.
The opposition was accusing Dhankhar of bias. The opposition claimed that he only suppresses the voice of the opposition and the questions raised by their MPs.
Looking at the previous term of Dhankhar, he held many important positions but he could not see his term to be completed. His five years are the only exception as an MLA.
