The 74 -year -old former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar shifted to the newly constructed Vice President Enclave on Church Road near Parliament House Complex in April last year. The Vice President’s residence and office enclave was constructed under the Central Vista redevelopment scheme.
Jagdeep Dhankhar will be given Type-8 bungalow, Officer
An official of the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said that former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar would have to leave it after staying in Vice President Enclave for about 15 months. He said, “He (former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar) will be given a bungalow of type eight in Lutyens Delhi or any other area.” Type eight bungalow is usually allocated to senior Union ministers or presidents of national parties.
Congress raised questions about Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation
It is noteworthy that Jagdeep Dhankhar had announced to resign from the post of Vice President of the country, citing health reasons on Monday (July 21, 2025). He sent his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu and said that he was leaving the post with immediate effect.
However, the ruling party and the opposition are completely surprised by Jagdeep Dhankhar’s sudden resignation from the post of Vice President. Regarding the resignation of Dhankhar, the Congress expressed apprehension that there are more deep reasons beyond the health reasons given by him on the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Announcement of resignation between monsoon session of Parliament
In fact, the monsoon session has started from Monday (July 21, 2025) in the Parliament of the country and Jagdeep Dhankhar was present as Vice President and Chairman of Rajya Sabha during the first day of monsoon session. But after the end of the first day’s proceedings, in the evening, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar announced his resignation and sent his resignation to President Draupadi Murmu.
