External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar, while talking on Indo-US relations on Sunday, admitted that there are some problems between the two countries. He said- There has not been agreed in business talks, due to which the US has imposed tariffs on India.
Jaishankar was speaking at the fourth Kautilya Economic Conference held in Delhi. During this, he said that on purchasing oil from Russia, the US has imposed another tax (extra tariff), which India considers wrong. He said-
Many other countries also buy oil from Russia, but the US has specially targeted India.
The Foreign Minister said that India and America should resolve their business disputes so that the relationship between the two countries remains strong. He said that there are problems, but we are trying to solve them wisely.

Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the Emergency Virtual Summit of BRICS Summit on 8 September. During this, he had said- trade policy should be fair, transparent and all benefits.
Without naming US President Donald Trump, Jaishankar said that there will be no benefit from creating problems and making transactions difficult. Business should always be smooth. Virtual Summit was also attended by Chinese Rashtrapati Xi Jinping, Russia’s Rashtriya Vladimir Putin, Brazilian Rashtrapati Lula Di Silwa.
Piyush Goyal had said- the deal will be finalized by November
Earlier, Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal had hoped to have a trade deal with the US. On September 2, Piyush Goyal said at a global investor conference, I hope that things will soon return to track and we will finalize the Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) by November.
India has a total of 50% American tariffs
Trump announced 25% tariff on India on 30 July. It came into force on 7 August. A day before this, on 6 August, he imposed 25% extra tariff on India due to buying Russian oil, which came into force from 27 August.
Trump said that India is buying cheap oil from Russia and selling it in the open market. This is helping Putin to continue the war against Ukraine.
