England’s wicketkeeper batsman came at number 7 and played an innings that changed the hulia of the match. Jamie Smith, while batting at number 7 in the first innings for England, completed a century in just 80 balls. On the basis of this stormy century, he broke the 43 -year -old record of Kapil Dev. Kapil Dev set a record of the fastest century in the Test match played between India and England. In the 1982 Kanpur Test, Kapil Dev completed 100 runs in 86 balls against England.
