Amarnath yatra security: Every year millions of devotees go on Amarnath Yatra with faith and devotion. This time too, a crowd of devotees is ready for the Amarnath Yatra. In view of this, the government does not want to make any lapse regarding security. After the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir government has declared the entire route of Amarnath Yatra as ‘No-Flying Zone’. This strict steps have been taken to ensure the safety of passengers and to prevent any possible threat.
No-Flying Zone will be applicable from 1 July to 10 August
The order issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department said that during the Amarnath Yatra from July 1 to August 10, the entire pilgrimage has been declared a no-flying zone. This includes both Pahalgam and Baltal routes. This means that flying drones, UAV, balloons or any other air equipment on these routes will be strictly banned. This decision has been taken on the advice of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India to ensure the safety of pilgrims and security forces.
Stop all except emergency, SOP soon
However, this ban will not apply to monitoring operations conducted by medical emergency, disaster management or security forces. The government will soon release a detailed standard operating procedure (SOP) for such special cases.
Apart from this, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan is reaching Srinagar on Tuesday to review the security system of Yatra. They will meet with senior security officials and consider the Amarnath Yatra and the current security situation of Jammu and Kashmir.
Hitech security arrangements: Monitoring, tracking and emergency services
This time, monitoring from drone, night patrolling and road opening parties have been deployed on the travel routes by the government. Officials said that sensitive areas have been identified and special attention is being given there.
Government for the safety and convenience of devotees:
- RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Tracking
- Real time weather alert
- Emergency withdrawal scheme
- Arrangement of dedicated health camps
The joint security exercise has already begun and a multi-level security mechanism is being activated, including both ground and air monitoring.
Heavy deployment of 580 companies
During the Amarnath Yatra, 580 companies of Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) will be deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, so that the journey can be completed peacefully and safely. This entire plan of the government is to ensure that the journey of this time is fulfilled with reverence and faith without any obstruction and no security lapse.
