He said, “People who had registered themselves to go before April 22, have been sought confirmation from all the people once again to go on the journey. After which more than 85 thousand people have confirmed that they still intend to go on the pilgrimage of Amarnath.

Before the April 22 attack, registration was going well- Lieutenant Governor

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha told reporters at the Raj Bhavan, “The registration of devotees for the pilgrimage before the April 22 attack was going on very well. But it was recorded since the attack. There have been about 10.19 percent less registrations this year than last year.”

The Lieutenant Governor said, “On April 22, about 2.36 lakh pilgrims had registered for the Amarnath Yatra before the terrorist attack in Basaron Valley of Pahalgam. A total of 26 people were killed in this attack, most of which were tourists.

He said, “The way the Jammu and Kashmir administration and security forces took steps after this incident increased a belief among the pilgrims and as a result, the registration has increased again.” At the same time, when he was asked whether the terrorist attack on this year’s Amarnath Yatra was affected, on which the Lieutenant Governor said that it had an impact in the area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir. Strong security arrangements made for pilgrims- Lieutenant Governor

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “This year Amarnath’s pilgrimage will start from July 3, 2025 and end on August 9. Meanwhile, strong security arrangements have been made for all the pilgrims going on the journey.

He said, “Three level security arrangements have been made in the base camps and the security forces are constantly doing exercise and mock drills to maintain their dominance in the entire area, so that any situation can be dealt with. Apart from this, additional police force and CAPF personnel have been deployed in view of security and the verification of all kinds of people has been completed during the visit.”
