Jasprit Bumrah’s Indian Premier League (IPL) is likely to play in the early matches of 2025 as Mumbai Indians star fast bowlers are still recovering from the lower back injury, due to which he has been out of competitive cricket since January. Bumrah was injured on the second day of the fifth and final Test match played in Sydney against Australia in January and he could not bowl in the second innings.

A source told PTI, “The progress of recovering from injury is good, but given the India’s Test series against England in June, it would be better to give him some more time to achieve full fitness at this level.” According to Cricinfo’s report, it is learned that Bumrah is expected to join the team by the beginning of April. Mumbai Indians have to play three matches in March, Bumrah may play for Team India in the fourth match.

Bumrah took 32 wickets in this series played for the Border Gavaskar Trophy, but after that he could not play any match. Due to injury, he could not even participate in the ICC Champions Trophy in which the Indian team became champion. The fast bowler was selected in the team for the Champions Trophy but was not kept in the final team for not getting fitness.

The Mumbai team will start their campaign against Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on 23 March and will go to Ahmedabad to face Gujarat Titans on 29 March. After this, she will play matches against Kolkata Knight Riders on her home ground on 31 March. She will face Lucknow Super Joints on April 4 and Royal Challenger Bangalore on April 7.
