Fasting story of Jaya Ekadashi
According to the legend, the festival was being celebrated in Nandan Van in ancient times. All the deities and sages and sages came in it. Music and dance were scattered throughout the city. There, a Gandharva singer named Mallyavan and a dancer named Pushyavati was dancing. During this time both of them became fascinated by each other and forgot their dignity. Due to this, the festival started fading. Seeing this, Indra Dev became angry and he cursed both of them from heaven and cursed to go to death.
Later both realized their mistake. He wanted to get rid of his vampire life. Incidentally, once on the Ekadashi of Magh Shukla, both the hungry stomach sat under the Peepal tree. He kept repenting his mistake overnight. Also pledged not to repeat the mistake further. It is said that as soon as sunrise, he got freedom from Pishachi life. Then he did not know that Jaya Ekadashi is also on that day. Knowingly, he observed Jaya Ekadashi fast. As a result, by the grace of Lord Vishnu, both of them got free from the vampire vagina and they again reached heaven from death.
