JNU has presented a report of 114 pages on illegal migrants in Delhi.

A report of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has come before voting in the Delhi Assembly elections. It states that infiltrators are coming from Bangladesh and Myanmar. This has increased the population of Muslims in Delhi.

Due to the intruders of Bangladeshi and Myanmar, Delhi’s demography has changed, which Delhi used to be 10-15 years ago, is not today. Along with the Muslim population, the population of the city has also changed.

Due to this the economy is being ruined. There has also been increased pressure on resources. Health and education systems have also been affected. Till yesterday, the people of Haryana, Purvanchal, Odisha, Kerala were now Rohingya. They have illegally taken away the work from laborers.

BJP MP Sambit Patra said that this report has been made by Professor Manurdha Chaudhary and her researchers together. He said that the most frightening thing is that political parties are promoting it. These Rohingyas are coming, there is no document.

It has also been reported in the report that these Bangladeshi and Rohingya Delhi’s Jamia Nagar (Shaheen Bagh), Zakir Nagar (Okhla), Lajpat Nagar, Celampur, Sultanpuri, Mustafabad, Nizamuddin, Sarai Rohilla, Shahdara, Bhalaswa Dairy, Bawana, Dwarka, Rohini, Moti Nagar Kailash Nagar, Khichdipur, Sarai Kale Khan, Zafarabad, Khan Market, and Govindpuri.

Illegal migrants affect elections

It is written in the report- The history of illegal immigration from Bangladesh is associated with the Rohingya crisis of the year 2017, during which millions of refugees escaped to India. These migrants usually depend on informal networks including brokers, agents and religious campaigners to secure housing and jobs, causing a cycle of illegal immigration.

These networks also create fake ID documents, which weaken the country’s legal systems and electoral processes. Crime network has also been strengthened by the growing population of illegal migrants.

Delhi Police has been campaigning to identify Bangladeshis since 11 December 2024.

According to the JNU report, unauthorized settlements by illegal migrants have increased slums and unplanned colonies, causing further pressure on the infrastructure under Delhi already under pressure.
