Jose Butler of England has given up the team’s captaincy from ODI and T20 format. Butler took this decision after the team’s poor performance in the Champions Trophy. He will take over the team for the last time in a group stage match against South Africa in Karachi on Saturday.

Butler spoke of leaving the captaincy in the press conference on Friday before the match. The England team went out of the group stage in the 2023 ODI World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.
