The judicial custody of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra of Hisar has been extended by 14 days. His bail plea has been dismissed after his arrest on 16 May on suspicion of espionage. According to the police, she was in touch with Pakistani agents. The next hearing of the case will be on 7 July.

Jyoti Malhotra, 33, used to run a YouTube channel under the name ‘Travel with Jo’ and hails from Hisar. He was arrested on 16 May from New Agrasen Extension area of ​​Hisar. The arrest was made on suspicion of espionage. A case has been registered against him under the official secrecy act and sections of the Code of India (BNS).

Jyoti’s lawyer Kumar Mukesh said that Malhotra was produced in the court through video conferencing, where the court extended his custody by 14 days.

June 9 was rejected petition
Earlier on 9 June, the court rejected his bail plea. The police had opposed the bail and said that the investigation is still going on and many important facts are yet to be revealed.

After the arrest, Jyoti was first sent to police custody for 5 days. After this, 4 more days of remand was given. On 26 May, he was sent to 14 days judicial custody, which has been extended further.

No such proof yet
According to Hisar police, no such evidence has been found so far that Malhotra had received any confidential information related to the army or defense. But the police claim that she was in touch with the people of the Pakistani intelligence agency, and she was also aware of this.

Police sources said that Malhotra was in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, an employee of Pakistani High Commission since November 2023 last year. The Government of India expelled Danish on 13 May on charges of espionage.
