Karnataka deputy CM dk shivakumar: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar has made a big announcement amidst the controversy of Amul Kiosk issued in the state. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar said that Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) will be provided space to open Nandini outlets at eight metro stations in Bengaluru. The Karnataka government has taken this step amidst the ongoing political fierce presence on the presence of Amul Kiosk on the city’s Namma metro network.

BMRCL Global tender was released to open dairy outlets at metro stations

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar while talking to reporters at his government residence made it clear that Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had issued a global tender to open dairy outlets at metro stations in the past. At that time only Amul applied for outlets. As a result of this, Amul has already started its kiosk at two metro stations.

It is not right to close Amul’s existing outlets- DK Shivkumar

He said, “It would not be right to shut down the existing Amul outlets at metro stations in the state. However, now we have instructed the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) to apply to the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) and will be allowed to install Nathini Outlets at eight stations in the remaining Bangalore.”

Political and regional dispute broke out when Gujarat’s dairy company arrives in Karnataka

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar’s statement on this matter has come to light at a time when the Gujarat -based dairy company Amul’s entry into Karnataka and political and regional marriages to open outlets at metro stations. After the outlets of Amul Company opening outlets in the state, many pro-Kannada organizations and political leaders have protested against the possible impact on Nandini’s market share.

Government repeated commitment to promote Nandini brand

Reiterating the state government’s commitment to promote the local brands of the state, Shivkumar has assured that Nandini will continue to play a major role in the dairy sector of Karnataka and now her presence will increase further after her outlets are opened at metro stations. At the same time, now action is expected to take forward the process of application of BMRCL KMF and to increase the presence of Nandini in the Namma Metro campus.
