Karnataka government on reservation: The Karnataka government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has given another big gift to the Muslim community of the state. The Karnataka government of the Congress, which has given the benefit of reservation in government contracts, has now decided to give more reservation to the Muslim community in housing schemes. Earlier, 10 percent quota was reserved under the scheme for the people of the Muslim community, in which the government has now increased it to 15 percent by increasing 5 percent.
State government passed in cabinet meeting
A proposal in this regard has been passed in the cabinet meeting of the Government of Karnataka on Thursday (June 19, 2025). The Muslim population will get the benefit of this proposal on various schemes being run by the Housing Department in urban and rural areas of the state.
However, at present, 10 percent reservation among housing beneficiaries is already prescribed for minorities. But in this proposal, the Karnataka government has decided to increase the reservation of Muslim community from 10 percent to 15 percent.
Deputy Chief Minister referred to population ratio regarding decision
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar has described the government’s decision as necessary for the state. Giving a statement in this regard, he said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the population ratio in the state.
He said that many projects of the state government are lying vacant, it is necessary to fill them all. With this, in view of the proportion of Muslim population in the state of Karnataka, the housing scheme has been increased from 10 percent to 15 percent.
Deputy Chief Minister targeted BJP
During this, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar has also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party does not have any other work. He has to do politics in the name of Muslim community only and only. Apart from this, they have no other work.
