Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has announced that the state government is planning to implement new and strict rules for tattoo parlors to ensure security safety. For this, the state government will also demand intervention from the Center so that appropriate guidelines can be established for the tattoo process.

Health risk from using metals in tattoo ink

According to Health Minister Rao, in the recent test conducted by the Food Safety Department, 22 types of dangerous materials were found in tattoo ink samples, including bacterial infections such as skin cancer, HIV, Hepatitis B and C, and Staphylococcus Arius.

Tattoo related infections have increased significantly in AIDS, cancer and skin diseases. In which the use of hazardous chemicals in poor cleaning standard and tattoo process has been expressed.

Proposal to classify tattoo ink like cosmetics

Gundu Rao said, the state government will write a letter to the Center requesting to classify tattoo ink like cosmetics. This step is being taken to ensure safety standard in the use of tattoo ink.

Ban on use of plastic in making idli

On February 28, the Karnataka government has banned the use of plastic in making idli in all hotels in the state as the Health Minister recognized the presence of dangerous chemicals. The Health Minister said that the use of plastic harmful to health in making idli can cause serious health problems.

Health risk by using plastic

Health Minister Rao said, this has been confirmed in the Tests conducted by the Food and Safety Department and the use of plastic has been banned to make idli in hotels and restaurants. Gundu Rao said-
